What to Expect
- 1.Dress in layered winter gear, wear waterproof boots, and bring hand warmers. The ice and wind can make the temps feel brutal between holes.
- 2.Get there early to sign in, grab a hole map, and ask volunteers how the prize rules work for the tagged fish.
- 3.Bring cash for entry fees and on-site purchases; cash payouts are part of the derby, and prize details are announced during the event.
- 4.Take a warm-up break at The Beach: Tiki Bar & Boil to warm up, grab hot drinks, and chat with other anglers between runs.
- 5.If you’re new to ice fishing, team up with someone experienced and consider the youth option for 15 & younger; it’s a social, family-friendly event—safety first.
