Apartment House 1776

About This Event

An immersive musical experience realizing John Cage's vision of American cultural coexistence.

What to Expect

• 1.This is an immersive piece, not a conventional seated concert, so you may move through spaces and listen from different spots; follow ushers for routes.
• 2.Arrive early to navigate entry and security and to find parking in downtown Detroit around Broadway.
• 3.Dress comfortably with layers since opera houses can be chilly and you may be standing or moving between rooms.
• 4.Keep noise to a minimum and silence your phone; some moments may be quiet or intensely focused, so be considerate of others.
• 5.If you have accessibility needs, contact the Detroit Opera House in advance to arrange seating or assistive services; staff can help you navigate the immersive setup.
