Barberry Turn-In Day

About This Event

Environmental event for residents to turn in invasive barberry plants.

What to Expect

• 1.This is a practical drop-off event, not a guided plant walk, so have your barberry ready to turn in when you arrive.
• 2.Check Oakland County Parks and Recreation's instructions before digging or transporting plants, especially for what parts of the plant they accept and how they want them bundled.
• 3.Wear sturdy shoes and gloves if you still need to remove plants before coming. Barberry can be thorny, so avoid carrying it loose against your clothes.
• 4.The event runs for three hours, so you likely have flexibility on arrival time, but confirm whether there are any check-in or drop-off procedures.
• 5.Bring only the invasive barberry specified by the event. If you are unsure whether a plant is barberry, take a clear photo and ask the organizers before bringing it.
