Concert of Colors: Don Was & The Pan-Detroit Ensemble

About This Event

Detroit native and legendary producer Don Was leads his Pan-Detroit Ensemble in a headline performance.

What to Expect

• 1.You're at a headline concert with Don Was and The Pan-Detroit Ensemble inside the Detroit Institute of Arts, so expect a refined, gallery-edge music experience rather than a club show.
• 2.The crowd tends to be art- and music-loving locals, pretty relaxed, so social pressure is low and conversations are easy between pieces.
• 3.Plan your arrival for a museum setting: use the DIA parking garage on Woodward, allow extra time for security checks, and head to the main entrance well before showtime.
• 4.If you want a snack or drink, check the museum cafe options before or after the show; inside the galleries you typically can't bring food and drinks, so plan accordingly.
• 5.First timers should wander the galleries a bit before the performance to soak in the atmosphere and then settle in; remember to keep phone brightness low and silence notifications during the set.
