Detroit Black Film Festival

About This Event

The Detroit Black Film Festival showcases the work of independent Black filmmakers from around the world, featuring screenings, panels, and networking events.

What to Expect

• 1.Plan to move between screening rooms and panel spaces inside the Charles H Wright Museum, so check the schedule and map your route to catch your top titles.
• 2.The crowd is a mix of filmmakers, students, and film buffs, so the venue can feel lively but screenings stay focused.
• 3.There are typically limited snacks and coffee in the lobby; bring a water bottle and grab a bite between blocks.
• 4.Arrive early to navigate parking on East Warren and security checks, and use the main entrance near Warren Ave.
• 5.As a first timer, take notes on films you want to chase and chat up people during the networking sessions.
