Detroit Symphony Orchestra: Songs of America

About This Event

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra presents 'Songs of America', a musical celebration of American heritage.

What to Expect

• 1.You'll hear a full Detroit Symphony Orchestra program—Songs of America—featuring orchestral works that celebrate American heritage. Do a quick skim of the program notes before the show to catch the context and composers.
• 2.Arrive early to park and locate seating; Orchestra Hall is a grand concert hall, so give yourself extra time for security lines and walking to your seat.
• 3.The crowd tends to be attentive and a touch formal; keep conversations quiet and applause aligned with the conductor's cues—you'll get a lot more out of it.
• 4.Concessions and restrooms are in the lobby; if you're not sure when to grab a drink or snack, plan it around the intermission so you don't miss music.
• 5.If you need accessibility accommodations or hearing assistance, check with the box office ahead of time; staff can point you to the appropriate services and seating.
