What to Expect
- 1.Plan to wander the FIA's galleries and the Art School spaces—Dia de Muertos installations and community altars are spread around, so give yourself extra time.
- 2.Bring a photo or small memento to add to the community ofrenda; it's a collaborative, participatory experience.
- 3.It's an evening event (7pm–midnight), so dress comfortably and bring a light layer for the museum's air conditioning.
- 4.Parking can fill up; arrive a bit early or have a backup plan downtown if you’re driving.
- 5.If you’re new to Dia de Muertos, ask staff where the main installations are and what activities are happening—the people running it are usually happy to guide you.
