DSO Community Concert

About This Event

A free community concert featuring the Detroit Symphony Orchestra playing movie themes and classical favorites.

What to Expect

• 1.Arrive early to find your seat in the large Orchestra Hall and take in the pre show atmosphere since this is a formal concert space even before the musicians start.
• 2.You will hear a mix of familiar movie themes and classical favorites, so keep an ear out for tunes you recognize and allow yourself to enjoy the soundtrack a little like a movie night.
• 3.Parking around Woodward Avenue can be tight, so consider a garage or rideshare and give yourself extra time to get in before the performance starts.
• 4.The crowd tends to be respectful and conversation is best kept to a whisper; applaud at the end of pieces rather than between movements to stay in the moment.
• 5.Dress smart casual and bring a light layer because venues can be chilly; comfortable shoes help since you may be walking to your seat in a big hall.
