Family Friendly Fishing Event

About This Event

A community fishing event designed for families to enjoy the outdoors together.

What to Expect

• 1.You'll see families at kid friendly fishing stations along the pond behind Johnson Nature Center, with volunteers showing the basics like knot tying and safe casting.
• 2.The crowd is friendly and low pressure, so you can join a station or just watch and move on if you want.
• 3.Bring snacks and water; there may not be a full food lineup, and the outdoor morning can burn through kids' energy fast.
• 4.Arrive early to grab a shade spot and a good casting lane, and expect some walking if you want to explore the preserve.
• 5.If you are new to fishing, volunteers are there to help with a quick intro and kid friendly gear; keep your expectations light and focus on the fun.
