Fireworks
About this event
Annual Independence Day fireworks celebration over Lake Orion. Best viewed from the downtown area or on the water.
What to Expect
- 1.Get there early to snag a good viewing spot along the downtown lakefront or, if you can, hop on a boat for a unique angle; parking around the lakefront fills up fast on July 4.
- 2.Pick your vantage point in advance—shoreline seating is easiest for families, but a boat view or floating dock can give you a different perspective; bring a light blanket or a small camp chair.
- 3.Pack light and protect young ears—fireworks can be loud, so consider ear protection or headbands for kids, plus snacks, water, and a compact poncho if the forecast calls for rain.
- 4.Expect crowds and possible downtown road closures; give yourself extra travel time and consider rideshare or parking a bit farther away with a short walk.
- 5.Watch for official start times around 9 pm and any weather updates; have a backup plan if views get crowded or weather delays the show.
