Join a WB Parks naturalist on a maple sugaring adventure. Bus departs from Drake Sports Park.
What to Expect
- 1.Arrive at Drake Sports Park early so you can board the bus on time; the group heads to Johnson Nature Center for the maple sugaring tour.
- 2.Dress for outdoor weather with layers and sturdy, closed-toe shoes because you’ll be outside for most of the morning.
- 3.Bring water and a small snack; the program runs several hours and there aren’t many food options along the way.
- 4.You’ll get a close look at the maple sugaring process—sap collection, boiling, and the making of syrup—with a WB Parks naturalist leading the way, and you can ask questions during the demonstration.
- 5.After the program, take some time to explore the Johnson Nature Center trails or exhibits near the campus; plan for the 2:45 pm end time and arrange pickup accordingly.
