Michigan Challenge Balloonfest

About This Event

The 41st annual event features hot-air balloon launches, a carnival, an open-air market, and family activities.

What to Expect

• 1.Arrive early to catch the balloon launches and get a good view of the field; crowds build up fast and parking gets tight, so plan ahead.
• 2.Dress for outdoors on a school campus: wear comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and bring water; there will be a lot of walking and kids in the mix.
• 3.Explore the carnival and open-air market in between balloon moments—vendor lines can be long, so budget time for snacks and small purchases.
• 4.Park in designated lots and follow staff directions; carpool if possible and leave yourself extra time to get in and out of the campus.
• 5.Weather can change quickly for balloon events—check the forecast, have a light layer handy, and keep kids close during any wind or delay notices.
