Paddlepalooza
About this event
Canoe and kayak race and adventure on the Clinton River.
What to Expect
- 1.Arrive early and park at Riverside Park; check in at least 30 minutes before the 8:00 start so you’re warmed up and ready to go.
- 2.If you’re paddling, wear a properly fitted PFD and bring a dry bag for valuables; if you need to rent gear, line up early at the registration area.
- 3.Pack sunscreen, water, and a light layer for the morning by the river. Michigan June mornings can be cool, but the sun comes fast, so be ready.
- 4.If you’re spectating, pick a good riverbank spot near the start or finish and bring a blanket or portable chair. There’s usually a family-friendly, festival-like energy along the riverfront.
- 5.Pay attention to safety briefings and follow marshals’ directions; the vibe is friendly but the water can be busy, so keep out of restricted areas and cheer on the racers.
