Room 131

About This Event

An evening of jazz, techno, and improvisation featuring Jon Dixon, Marquis Johnson, and special guest Marcus Elliot.

What to Expect

• 1.You’re in for a night where jazz roots meet techno pulses and improvisation, with Jon Dixon and Marquis Johnson guiding the flow and Marcus Elliott sitting in as a guest. Expect fluid sets that shift tempo and mood rather than a rigid, fixed lineup.
• 2.The room will feel intimate and the crowd creative—think artists and music heads who lean into improvised moments and live interaction with the performers.
• 3.Sound can ebb and flow, so bring ear protection if you’re sensitive to loud music and give yourself a moment to reset between high-energy passages.
• 4.Plan to arrive a bit early so you can find Room 131 and settle in before the 7:00 start; Fridays at the venue can get busy, especially in a small room.
• 5.If you’re new to this hybrid of jazz and techno, stay for the encore or the improvised jams—the night often evolves beyond the announced set list.
