Independence Day celebration featuring the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and fireworks.
What to Expect
- 1.Arrive early to secure parking and a good sightline; if you're on the lawn, bring a blanket or a lightweight chair so you can settle in comfortably before the music starts.
- 2.You'll hear a patriotic program performed by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, building to a fireworks finale that lights up the night over Greenfield Village.
- 3.Dress in layers; July evenings can swing from warm to chilly once the sun dips, so bring a light jacket and comfortable shoes for walking around the village.
- 4.Concessions will be available on-site, and lines can get long after sunset, so plan to grab water or snacks ahead of time if you want to avoid lines.
- 5.Security checks are likely and post-firework crowds will surge, so have a meeting point if you're with a group and consider leaving a little earlier to beat the mass exodus.
