Salute to America @ Greenfield Village
About this event
A beloved Independence Day tradition featuring patriotic music, historic charm, and a performance by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra followed by a fireworks finale.
What to Expect
- 1.Get there early to park and snag a good viewing area on the lawn or by seating; the program begins shortly after 5 pm at Greenfield Village and you want to settle in before the Detroit Symphony Orchestra takes the stage.
- 2.Wear comfortable shoes and expect a lot of walking around the historic village grounds between buildings; there is a lot to see in this museum setting.
- 3.There are on site food and drink options; lines can be long around intermission so plan meals accordingly or browse options before the show.
- 4.Be prepared for weather changes in the evening; bring a light jacket, sunscreen earlier, and maybe a small blanket for kids or extra seating.
- 5.The fireworks finale gets crowded and loud; bring ear protection for kids and pick a viewing spot with a clear view and easy exit routes after the show.
