What to Expect
- 1.The Boy Detective and the guest acts bring ska-punk energy in a cozy, intimate room—expect close quarters and a lot of movement near the stage. If you want good sightlines, claim a spot a few feet back from the barrier.
- 2.Doors are around 6:30–7:00 PM and the main set starts at 7; parking on Woodward Ave can be tight, so give yourself extra time or use a nearby lot.
- 3.The venue has a bar and merch table; have cash handy for drinks and band merch in case lines are long.
- 4.Dress casual and comfortable; it can get crowded and warm, so a light layer and sturdy shoes help.
- 5.If you're new to Magic Bag shows, go with a friend or strike up conversations with other fans—Ferndale crowds tend to be welcoming and the room is spectator-friendly.
