The Music of Journey

About This Event

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra performs the iconic hits of the rock band Journey.

What to Expect

• 1.You'll hear Journey's songs reimagined for a full orchestra—lush strings, bold brass, and crescendos that swell like movie music.
• 2.The crowd will be a mix of classical concertgoers and Journey fans, so dress smart casual and expect a more formal concert-hall vibe.
• 3.Plan to arrive early to park and clear security checks; give yourself 15–20 minutes even if you’re familiar with the area.
• 4.Orchestra Hall's acoustics are superb, so center seating usually offers the best balance of strings and rock motifs, but the sides still sound fantastic.
• 5.There’s typically an intermission—use the lobby to stretch, grab a drink, and skim the program notes for orchestration details.
• 6.If you need accessibility options, Orchestra Hall has ADA seating and accessible entrances; call ahead to secure the best seating route.
