Uncle Sam Jam
About this event
One of Metro Detroit's largest summer festivals featuring national music acts, carnival rides, and food vendors.
What to Expect
- 1.Civic Center Park in Woodhaven is a big city park with multiple stages and carnival rides spread around the grounds, so grab a map and pick a couple must see acts to chase. You'll end up hopping between spots, so wear comfortable shoes and expect a bit of walking.
- 2.The crowd will be big and energetic but generally friendly, with families and solo attendees mixing in. If you want to meet people, strike up a chat in lines or at the food vendors, but you can still enjoy it solo.
- 3.Food vendors are plentiful, with a mix of snacks and full meals; lines can get long at peak times, so consider grabbing a bite between sets or use any mobile ordering options if available.
- 4.Parking near Hall Road gets tight; arrive early or plan a rideshare and be prepared to walk from lots.
- 5.First timers should bring sunscreen, a refillable water bottle, a small bag, and a simple plan for what you want to see so you maximize the day.
