Wayne County Household Hazardous Waste Collection

About This Event

A collection event for Wayne County residents to safely dispose of household hazardous waste.

What to Expect

• 1.Plan to arrive early and follow the signs to the drop-off area in the campus parking lot. Volunteers will direct traffic and help you categorize items.
• 2.Expect an orderly, low-pressure process with plenty of staff to answer questions. There will usually be a steady line, especially in the morning.
• 3.Bring a government photo ID and proof of Wayne County residency; have items ready to tell volunteers what they are.
• 4.Only residential household waste is accepted; no business waste and no unlabeled materials. Keep liquids in their original containers and place incompatible chemicals in separate bags.
• 5.Parking can fill up and there may not be food on site, so bring water and wear comfortable shoes. Have your items organized in the trunk or back of the car to minimize handling. If you have a large or bulky item, tell a volunteer at the start so they can help.
