2026 Oak Hill Cemetery Walk

About This Event

Annual walking tour exploring the historic Oak Hill Cemetery. This year's theme is 'Celebrating America250: Ladies, Gents and Scoundrels.'

What to Expect

• 1.Youll walk through Oak Hill Cemetery on a guided tour with stories tied to the Ladies, Gents and Scoundrels theme. Wear sturdy shoes for uneven paths and bring a light jacket for potential cool air in the cemetery.
• 2.Expect a quiet, curious crowd and a guide who keeps the pace comfortable for a roughly two hour stroll through the grounds.
• 3.Amenities inside cemeteries can be limited, so bring water and plan restroom breaks before you go. The focus is on storytelling and history, not food stalls or big crowds.
• 4.Plan to park along University Drive and arrive a few minutes early for the meetup; the starting point is 216 University Drive, Pontiac, MI. The group will depart on schedule at 2 pm, so avoid being late.
• 5.Respect the graves, stay on designated paths, and consider taking quick notes if something specific resonates. This is as much a historical walking experience as a storytelling session.
