All Alumni BBQ

About This Event

Part of Homecoming Weekend, this BBQ is sponsored by the Black Alumni Chapter and welcomes all alumni back to campus for food and networking.

What to Expect

• 1.You'll see alumni from different decades catching up, volunteers from the Black Alumni Chapter handling the grills, and campus staff helping with check in. Have a couple of quick icebreakers ready like asking what year they graduated to kick off conversations.
• 2.It's casual and friendly, with people mingling around grills and picnic tables in Meadow Brook on Oakland University campus.
• 3.Food usually sticks to BBQ staples like burgers, chicken, sides, and veggie options; bring cash or a card if the campus vendors don't accept taps.
• 4.Parking on campus can be tight during Homecoming weekend, so arrive a bit early and use the Meadow Brook Road lot; check for posted signs about event parking; bring a small folding chair if seating is limited.
• 5.Introduce yourself to Black Alumni Chapter reps and collect contact info for follow up; dress comfortably and bring a light jacket in case it's windy outside; bring business cards or LinkedIn QR if you want to network.
