Autorama

About This Event

The 73rd annual Detroit Autorama, America's Greatest Hot Rod Show, featuring custom cars, hot rods, and the prestigious Ridler Award competition.

What to Expect

• 1.Hit the Ridler Award cars first—the centerpiece of the show—and give yourself 20–30 minutes there before the floor gets slammed with crowds.
• 2.Grab a floor map at the door, mark your must-see builds, and plan a logical route so you don’t zigzag across the hall all day.
• 3.Wear comfy shoes and dress for Detroit indoor temps; you’ll be on your feet a lot and the halls can get crowded.
• 4.Don’t touch the cars and ask before photos; use a low flash or natural light to avoid glare on glossy paint.
• 5.Hydrate and refuel early—there are food stalls inside but lines can get long at peak lunch times, so plan a break or eat nearby if needed.
