Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix

About This Event

The opening day of the 36th annual Detroit Grand Prix featuring practice sessions and community events on the downtown street circuit.

What to Expect

• 1.Arrive early to catch practice and pick a view along the downtown street circuit; these sightlines along Atwater and nearby streets fill up fast, so have a couple backup spots in mind.
• 2.Expect a lot of noise and heat—bring ear protection, sunscreen, a hat, and comfy shoes for a full day on the circuit.
• 3.Downtown Detroit traffic will be busy during the event, so use transit or rideshare and check road closures around Atwater Street.
• 4.Vendor lines can be long and payment methods vary—bring a mix of cash and card, and carry a portable charger for your phone.
• 5.If you’re new to street races, watch multiple sections to catch different overtakes and lines; check the official schedule for practice times and any community events to plan your day.
