The official start of the Fall 2026 semester at Oakland University.
What to Expect
- 1.Get there a bit early to park and locate your first class because the 8 am start will draw a crowd and parking can be tight on campus.
- 2.Carry or have easy access to your class schedule and a campus map, and use signage or the university app to find rooms quickly since OU campuses can be sprawling.
- 3.Expect lines at common spots and plan for a quick caffeine fix near Meadow Brook Road before your first lecture or breakout session.
- 4.Keep an eye on your email or the student portal the night before for any welcome talks or advising sessions so you know where to go and what to bring on day one.
- 5.Wear comfortable shoes and be ready to walk across campus as you bounce between buildings, labs, and lecture halls on your first day.
