Annual open house at the Wixom Fire Station featuring equipment displays and safety demonstrations.

What to Expect

• 1.Walk the bays at your own pace and check out the fire engines up close; demonstrations usually happen at a few different stations so you can move between them.
• 2.The crowd is friendly and casual but you will see plenty of families with kids, so plan to arrive a bit early if you want shorter lines.
• 3.There isn't a full food lineup, so bring water and a snack if you are hungry later; some stations may have coffee or small treats but don't rely on it.
• 4.Parking can fill up fast in Wixom; consider arriving early or parking on side streets and following volunteers to the entrance.
• 5.Ask volunteers about any safety demos or gear you see; staff are happy to explain how equipment works and what the noises mean.
• 6.If you are going solo, stick to the main open areas and you will naturally meet locals, but there is no pressure to engage more than you want.
