GRP Seed-Saving Initiative Kick-Off
About this event
This initiative will center on shared learning and collective stewardship. Save as little or as much seed of any plant as you want
What to Expect
- 1.Bring seeds you’re saving or labeled samples and envelopes so you can practice drying and storage. There’ll be other gardeners to swap tips with, too.
- 2.Dry seeds completely before packaging and use paper envelopes or small glass jars; label each lot with plant name, variety, year, and source.
- 3.Take notes during demonstrations and record where to find local seed-saving resources.
- 4.Engage with others respectfully and be open to learning; this is a collaborative, community-driven session.
- 5.Since the kickoff runs into the evening, plan for an all-evening session and bring water; wear comfortable clothes and expect a hands-on feel.
