Meadow Brook Garden Club: Gardening Day
About this event
Weekly gardening day hosted by the Meadow Brook Garden Club.
What to Expect
- 1.You'll be outside in Meadow Brook Hall's gardens doing light maintenance with hand tools, and you might see organized flower beds and seasonal blooms while learning a trick or two from experienced club members.
- 2.The crowd is friendly and low pressure, so you'll likely chat with a few fellow gardeners and maybe help someone with a planting question, but there's no required socializing.
- 3.Bring water and sun protection, since there isn't a cafe for this morning session, so plan to hydrate and pack a small snack; restrooms are inside Meadow Brook Hall.
- 4.Dress for outdoor work with closed toe shoes because the ground can be uneven and you may kneel or reach into beds; if you have gloves or basic tools bring them, but club members often have extras.
- 5.Arrive a few minutes early to sign in and meet a mentor if you're new; gardening day is friendly and inclusive, and you don't need prior gardening experience.
