The gardens on Meadow Brook Estate are maintained by volunteers of the Meadow Brook Garden Club. Gardening occurs each Tuesday.
What to Expect
- 1.You'll be doing hands-on garden tasks like weeding, mulching, and pruning, with volunteers to show you the ropes.
- 2.Dress for outdoor work: closed-toe shoes, long sleeves or lightweight pants, a hat, and sunscreen; bring a refillable water bottle.
- 3.The vibe is friendly and low pressure; you can chat with other volunteers or focus on your task.
- 4.Sign in at the Meadow Brook Hall volunteer desk when you arrive; park in the estate lot and head to the garden; the shift runs 9:00 to 12:00 every Tuesday.
- 5.If you're new, tell the lead you're a first-timer; they'll pair you with a buddy and assign a simple starter task.
- 6.Respect the grounds and stay on designated paths around the gardens to protect the historic estate.
