MIGHT IN OUR STORIES AFRICAN AMERICAN READ-IN

About This Event

A community event celebrating African American literature and stories.

What to Expect

• 1.Arrive a bit early to grab a good seat and check in with the front desk; seating is usually first-come and the program tends to move along at a steady pace.
• 2.Expect a mix of local authors and community voices; there may be an open mic—sign up when you arrive if you want to share a piece, and keep it to a couple minutes.
• 3.Treat it as a quiet, attentive space; silence your phone and give full attention to each reader, with a round of applause between pieces.
• 4.Parking around the Pontiac Regional Chamber of Commerce building can be limited; allow a little extra time and use nearby lots or street parking; the entrance is accessible from the main frontage.
• 5.After the readings, there may be casual mingling or a book-signing opportunity; plan to stick around if you want to chat with readers or pick up signed copies.]
