Join the Queer Outdoors as we get up close to birds and other wildlife on a leisurely hike at Kensington Metropark! This park has over 700 acres of forests, fields, fens and swamps. Meet outside of the park's Nature Center.
What to Expect
- 1.You'll start the hike outside the Nature Center and move at a relaxed pace, focusing on spotting birds and other wildlife along forested trails at Kensington Metropark.
- 2.With Kensington's 700 acres of forests, fields, fens and swamps, you’ll see a mix of habitats—bring a pair of binoculars if you have them.
- 3.Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather; bring water and insect repellent for comfort on the trail.
- 4.Be mindful of ticks and stay on marked trails; the guide will point out wildlife and birding spots along the way.
- 5.Meet outside the Nature Center; parking is available nearby and the hike length can vary with conditions.
