Oakland County Fair Opening Day & Fireworks

About This Event

Opening day of the Oakland County Fair featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Figure 8 races, and a fireworks display at 10:00 PM.

What to Expect

• 1.Arrive early to park and map the grounds; Springfield Oaks Park is big, so find the main entrance and the race area before the crowds roll in.
• 2.Watch the Figure 8 races from the track side; they’re quick, loud, and crowded, so bring ear protection for kids and pick a good railside spot.
• 3.Food options will be vendor-heavy; bring cash and a refillable water bottle, and expect lines to get long after sunset—grab snacks earlier if you can.
• 4.The fireworks begin around 10 PM; pick a viewing spot with a clear horizon and bring a blanket or a portable chair since it’s an all-ages outdoor night show.
• 5.It’s family-friendly but still a park-wide event; bring kids’ essentials and plan a few short breaks, and check the park’s policies on strollers or pets in advance.
