What to Expect

• 1.Arrive a bit early to park and locate your seat in Varner Hall; campus venues can have tight parking windows, so give yourself a few extra minutes.
• 2.During the performance, keep phones off and on silent, and clap at the ends of pieces rather than between movements to keep the hall's focus.
• 3.Intermissions are common in orchestral programs, so plan a quick break in the lobby if needed and use the time to check the program notes or stretch.
• 4.Dress smart-casual to semi-formal; orchestral concerts tend to look and feel more polished than a typical evening out.
• 5.If you’re new to this kind of show, skim the program beforehand to learn the works and guest artists—it helps you follow along and appreciate transitions.
