Oakland University presents 'Gloria'
About This Event
Oakland University's School of Music, Theatre and Dance presents Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' acclaimed play, 'Gloria'. A finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, it is a provocative examination of office politics and the aftermath of violence.
What to Expect
- 1.You'll see a brisk, provocative drama staged in a campus theatre. The focus is on sharp dialogue, power dynamics, and an ensemble cast delivering intense performances.
- 2.Crowd energy tends to be thoughtful and quiet during scenes, with afterwards conversations in the lobby likely to go deep. It's a crowd that cares about what they just watched.
- 3.Concessions at Varner Hall are usually limited, so grab coffee or a snack from a campus cafe before curtain and plan your timing.
- 4.Parking can get tight on campus; arrive 20 minutes early and use the designated university lots. The walk from the lot to Varner Hall is short.
- 5.If you're new to a college theatre experience, breathe and just soak in the atmosphere, then stick around for the talkback if there is one.
