What to Expect

• 1.Show up early to sign up for the open mic list or to catch a few acts. The host will tell you how to get on the list and how long you might wait.
• 2.If you plan to perform, bring a tight 3-5 minute set and have a backup bit ready in case the mic runs short or long.
• 3.The room at Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle is intimate and the crowd is forgiving but honest. Expect a mix of local talent and sharper jokes, and keep it respectful if you're on stage or in the crowd.
• 4.Budget your night for the door price and drinks. The club typically sells tickets at the door for about $5, and there’s a full bar to keep you fueled between acts.
• 5.Parking around Royal Oak can be tricky after 6pm, so give yourself extra time to park and walk to the venue. The show runs late, so plan for a late ride home.
