What to Expect
- 1.This is a hands-on pasta workshop, so you’ll actively roll, cut, and cook your own pasta; you’ll be paying attention to dough texture and cooking timing.
- 2.Dress for mess—closed-toe shoes, hair tied back, and an apron if you have one.
- 3.Take advantage of instructor Kori Kanayama’s background as a Japanese native and community food educator to pick up practical pasta techniques and kitchen tips.
- 4.Arrive a bit early to check in at Pioneer High School and locate the cooking space; campus parking and wayfinding can take a few minutes.
- 5.If you have dietary restrictions or allergies, tell the host ahead of time so they can advise on ingredients; this event is open to grades 9 through adult, so you’ll be learning alongside a wide range of cooks.
