What to Expect
- 1.Arrive early and bring a blanket or a portable chair, because seating in the park is first come, first served. The crowd spills across the lawn, so you might end up walking a bit to find a comfy spot.
- 2.Expect simple singing and communal prayer rather than a formal concert. If you're shy, hang toward the back or the sides and you can observe without feeling on display.
- 3.Pack water and sunscreen since the gathering runs from 7 in the morning to mid afternoon in Rochester weather. A hat helps too if it gets sunny.
- 4.There will likely be families and kids, so keep an eye on little ones and follow any directions from volunteers or security.
- 5.If you're new to this kind of worship, say hi to a volunteer or neighbor after the program; most folks are welcoming and you can slip in and out as you wish.
