Presentation – Local Titans: The David Ward Family & Their Contributions to Orchard Lake

About This Event

Researcher Lana LaFortune shares how the influential David Ward family, known as the 'Timber Kings of Michigan', left their mark on Greater West Bloomfield's development and natural preservation.

What to Expect

• 1.Expect a one-hour presentation focused on the Ward family's role in local development and natural preservation, rather than a broad overview of Michigan lumber history.
• 2.Arrive a little early to find the presentation room and choose a seat; library programs can fill up, and arriving ahead gives you time to get settled.
• 3.This is a seated talk, so you can listen without needing to mingle. Bring a few questions if you want to speak with the researcher afterward.
• 4.The event is at a public library, so don't assume food or drinks will be available. Check the library's policies before bringing anything into the room.
