Shen Yun

About This Event

A brilliant artistic revival and celebration of China's rich cultural heritage through classical Chinese dance, stunning costumes, and a unique orchestra.

What to Expect

• 1.The show is a blend of classical Chinese dance, live orchestra, and ornate costumes—watch the precision of the dancers and how movement tells each story.
• 2.Dress up a notch if you like, but you’ll be fine in comfortable theater-friendly clothes since you’ll be seated for most of the performance.
• 3.Plan to arrive a bit early to find your seats and settle in; downtown Detroit can be busy and there’s a security check before you enter the Opera House.
• 4.Photography and recording aren’t allowed during the performance, so silence your phone and soak in the live music and choreography.
• 5.If you’re new to Shen Yun, skim the program or a quick guide to catch the cultural context behind the pieces and set expectations for the performance style.
