Snowflake Science
About this event
Some weird science enables the complex shapes of snowflakes. Take part in frozen experiments and observe natural snow if it’s available. An American Sign Language interpreter will be provided...
What to Expect
- 1.Dress in warm, waterproof layers with solid, traction-friendly boots—the program is outdoors in winter and footing can be slick.
- 2.Expect hands-on experiments and live demonstrations, with a chance to observe real snow if conditions permit; bring a small notebook to sketch crystals or jot notes.
- 3.An ASL interpreter is provided; if you have accessibility needs, arrive early or contact the organizers so they can assist.
- 4.Park in the designated lots at Independence Oaks and plan for possible parking limited times; check in at the program area and bring water and a snack if needed.
- 5.If there isn’t much snow, staff will pivot to related ice and snowflake science activities—be prepared for flexible, educational hands-on learning.
