South Lyon City Council Meeting

About This Event

Regular meeting of the South Lyon City Council to discuss local government business.

What to Expect

• 1.You'll be seated in a formal city council chamber at Downtown South Lyon and watch the council members discuss the agenda items; if you want to speak during public comment, you usually need to sign up with the clerk before the meeting.
• 2.The crowd tends to be civic minded and quiet; dress is business casual and you should keep conversations in the lobby or outside the chamber.
• 3.There is usually no food or drink inside the chamber, so plan accordingly; you can grab water outside or beforehand.
• 4.Check the posted agenda online before you go so you know which items matter to you and how long the meeting might run; arrive early to find a seat.
• 5.If you plan to speak, prepare a concise comment and follow the meeting's rules for public testimony; you can attend just to observe and leave when you want.
