The Great Campout

About This Event

Families can enjoy Nature Center tours, trail hikes, and free time. Participants can choose to camp out in their own backyards or stay in a pre-reserved campsite for an overnight adventure.

What to Expect

• 1.The afternoon will mix Nature Center tours with trail hikes, so wear sturdy shoes and layers for changing weather; bring water and sunscreen and be ready to hop between quick, kid-friendly activities.
• 2.If you’re camping overnight, bring your own sleeping gear for backyard or plan to use a pre-reserved campsite; make sure you know check‑in times and reserve ahead.
• 3.Pack snacks and extra water, since food options at the park can be limited and you’ll be active for several hours; a small cooler or snack bag is handy.
• 4.Parking at Heritage Park can fill up, so aim to arrive a bit early and follow posted signs to the event area; carpool if you can.
• 5.If you’re new to this, swing by the welcome area to sign up for guided tours and activities; some slots may fill up, so don’t delay joining.
