The Phantom of the Opera

About This Event

Cameron Mackintosh's spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera.

What to Expect

• 1.Get there early to park and navigate the Detroit Opera House; downtown traffic can be unpredictable before curtain.
• 2.Dress up a little—smart casual or a touch of formal is the norm for a big Broadway-style show, even if the venue doesn’t require it.
• 3.It’s a two-act musical with a mid-interval; use the break to stretch, grab a drink, or glance at the program.
• 4.You’re in for a lush live orchestra and strong vocal performances; the music will carry a lot of the mood and energy.
• 5.If you’re new to Phantom, you’ll recognize the score, but the staging and lighting create a big, immersive mood—don’t worry if you miss a lyric on first listen.
