What to Expect
- 1.Get there early to park and locate your seat before the overture starts; the Fisher Theatre can get busy, and you’ll want a buffer to settle in without rushing.
- 2.The Phantom of the Opera is a full Broadway-style production with a live orchestra and lush sets, so plan for about 2.5 hours including intermission and bring tissues if you’re prone to teary moments.
- 3.Choose center orchestra or the front balcony if you can for the best sightlines; the view is solid overall, but the back rows can feel distant during big ensemble moments.
- 4.Dress smart-casual is usually fine at the Fisher Theatre, but comfort comes first—nice enough to feel the occasion without overdressing, and comfortable shoes help for the walk from parking.
- 5.After the curtain calls, traffic can be heavy leaving Midtown Detroit, so give yourself extra time for exits and maybe plan a post-show bite at nearby spots on West Grand Boulevard or in Midtown nearby.
