The Soo Locks: An Engineering Marvel

About This Event

A presentation on the history and significance of the Soo Locks, one of North America's most important engineering marvels located right here in Michigan.

What to Expect

• 1.Expect a focused talk on the Soo Locks' history and engineering significance, rather than a hands-on demonstration.
• 2.Arrive a little early to find the meeting room and choose a seat; library events can fill up, but the listing doesn't specify capacity.
• 3.Bring questions if you're curious about shipping or Great Lakes history. A presentation like this is a natural setting to ask them during any Q&A.
• 4.Check the library's event page or call ahead for registration requirements and parking details, since those aren't listed here.
• 5.You can attend on your own without needing to mingle; the talk gives everyone a shared point of focus.
