What to Expect

• 1.Arrive a bit early to park and find the entrance; Midtown Detroit parking can be tight, and doors typically open about 30 minutes before curtain.
• 2.This is a seated, intimate theatre experience with a live jazz ensemble interpreting Betty Carter’s repertoire, so listen for phrasing, tone, and improvisation.
• 3.The crowd tends to be attentive and respectful—keep conversations to a minimum during the performance and mute your phone.
• 4.There usually isn’t full-service dining inside the venue, so plan a pre-show bite nearby on Woodward Ave and be ready for a shorter intermission or none at all.
• 5.After the show, explore nearby dining or coffee spots along Woodward Ave—it's a walkable area with several options to wrap up the night.
