Yoga & Music with Detroit Yoga Lab
About this event
A unique sensory experience combining a yoga session with live musical accompaniment in the DSO's black box space.
What to Expect
- 1.You'll move through a mat-based yoga flow in the DSO's black box space at Orchestra Hall, while a live musician nudges the tempo with the music. The pace is slow and mindful, not high intensity, so go at your own breath.
- 2.The crowd tends to be quiet and focused, so you can practice without feeling watched or judged; treat it like a moving meditation rather than a class with applause.
- 3.Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to find a spot on the floor and set up. The black box inside Orchestra Hall is intimate, so space may be limited.
- 4.Dress in comfortable layers and bring a mat or towel if one isn't provided; you'll be here for about 90 minutes, so wear something breathable.
- 5.If you're new to yoga, don't worry about getting every pose right; use the modifications and breathe with the live soundtrack.
