41st Annual National POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony

About This Event

A ceremony to honor Michigan's unreturned veterans and recognize National POW/MIA Day.

What to Expect

• 1.You will see a formal program with a color guard, remarks from officials, and a wreath laying, followed by a moment of silence.
• 2.The crowd is typically quiet and respectful, so keep conversations to a minimum and silence your phone during the program.
• 3.Plan for security checks and to arrive a bit early to find seating; the Novi Civic Center is a government building with standard entry procedures.
• 4.Dress business casual and comfortable shoes since you will be in a seated ceremony inside a government facility.
• 5.If you are new to this kind of ceremony, stand for the national anthem if it is performed and take a moment to reflect; you can step out quietly if you need a break.
