What to Expect
- 1.Arrive early to map out the layout and snag a good view for the live music stages along downtown Royal Oak. The festival sprawls across sidewalks and festival zones, so give yourself extra time to zigzag between art booths and food stalls.
- 2.Wear comfy shoes and a lightweight backpack with water and snacks. You'll be doing lots of walking and there are long lines for some popular vendors.
- 3.Have a plan for parking or rideshares because the downtown area gets tight on Labor Day weekend. Consider parking a few blocks away and walking in, or use a rideshare pickup point to avoid circling.
- 4.Bring cash for smaller stalls even if many vendors accept cards, and keep an eye out for vendor maps so you don't miss your favorite artists or bands.
- 5.Check the festival map before you go and pick a couple of must see art booths or music sets so you don't wander aimlessly for hours.
