Aviary Birds Enrichment
What to Expect
- 1.You’ll probably catch a keeper-led enrichment demo in the aviary, with puzzle feeders, foraging challenges, and new perches that encourage natural bird behaviors.
- 2.The crowd tends to be relaxed and kid-friendly, so expect curious questions and plenty of movement around the viewing areas—stay patient and give others space to watch.
- 3.This is an outdoor, daytime activity, so dress for weather and wear comfortable shoes; bring water and sunscreen just in case.
- 4.Use the official viewing areas and stay back from enclosures; do not feed or touch the birds and follow any staff instructions during demonstrations.
- 5.If you’re new to this, ask a keeper or docent afterward about the species you saw and the enrichment goals—it’s a great way to learn more and plan the rest of your zoo visit.
